Mae 2 ddisgybl o Ysgol Uwchradd y Rhyl a fynnychodd y digwyddiad arwyddo trawst diweddar ar safle Ysgol Newydd Y Rhyl wedi rhannu’r llythyr hwn:
Our names are Jacob Jones and Jennifer Williams, we are year 9 students and we have been privileged enough to have been given the amazing opportunity to be the first students to ever step foot in the new school. We would really like to tell you all about our experiences during the build so far.
As many of you know, Rhyl High School’s motto is ‘Progress to Success’, Personally, we believe that as a school we have achieved this together.
Our journey, watching our school grow has been an exciting and mesmerizing one.
It all started when we visited two schools in Oldham, Manchester which were designed and built by Willmott Dixon, the people behind this significant new school. This visit opened our eyes to all the opportunities we had in front of us involving our new school. Putting our heads together, we were able to give ideas and opinions, all of which have brought us here today.
Many events have happened since then, such as, the turf cutting which we attended. This showed us how close our ideas were to becoming a reality.
Today we walked around the new school, talked to all the people that are making it possible, took selfies alongside our proud head teacher and had beaming smiles the entire day.
It has been an honour to have such an important role in this memorable and wonderful project, we are excited to walk down the corridors this time next year with our fellow students, teachers, staff and friends.
Thank you for taking this time to read our letter. We hope you are as excited as we are.
Jennifer Williams and Jacob Jones.
